John and Teresa Barnes have been in the ministry serving the Lord together for their thirty-plus years of marriage. For 25 of those years, John has served as a Pastor and Assistant Pastor.

With having traveled to many churches around the country, and several foreign nations, the Lord led Pastor Barnes into evangelism, specifically focusing on New England. In the fall of 2022, New England for Christ Ministries was started. New England for Christ Ministries is a ministry of Knotty Oak Baptist Church, Coventry, Rhode Island under the direction of Evangelist John Barnes.

The vision for New England for Christ Ministries is two-fold. The greatest desire is for souls to be saved. We believe the simple, pure Gospel message of Jesus Christ is available to all and must be preached everywhere. The second aspect of the vision is to provide a ministry of helps to local churches. There is much involved in the vision of helps to the churches. Two main parts would be to assist with church planting throughout New England and also to provide assistance to churches through Missions Conferences, teen rallies, camps, revivals, and teaching and training times.

The greatest joy of John and Teresa’s life and ministry has been to raise four Godly sons that are now serving the Lord in various ministries around the country. God has also used the Barnes’s to be involved in college ministries, and serving with teen camps over the years.
